Kerma

The Kerma region is the center of Nubia, a few kilometers upstream of the Third Cataract, is in a strategic location to control communications along the Nile Valley. It opens with the largest alluvial plain of northern Sudan (15 to 20 km wide and 200 km long). These natural conditions have played an important role in population dynamics of this region and partly explain its archaeological wealth, either for prehistoric and historic periods
